Qirat Questions, Answered
Is Qirat different from Tajweed?
Yes. Tajweed is the science of correct pronunciation — the rules. Qirat is the art of beautiful recitation — the styles, melody and delivery built on top of perfect Tajweed.
Do I need to be a Hafiz?
Not required. What you need is strong, fluent, Tajweed-level reading. Many of our Qirat students are not Huffaz — they are simply advanced reciters who love beautiful qira’at.
What will I recite?
You will begin with selected short surahs, progressing to longer passages as your breath control and style mastery grow — all the way to leading taraweeh-length recitation.
